Fascist friends raise their heads in Canada. Did this not also happen during WWII in Canada? Yes it did. Many German Jewish peoples were turned away at Canada's borders during the War; in fact an entire boatload that were later returned to Europe. Strange twist of fate represented here for Canada. Lieberman as next Prime Minister of Israel? Yikes. Canada needs to check out the intentions of their "friends."

Lieberman winning the PM office could represent a 1932 scenario repeated in a strange and sadly ironic way.  

Lieberman may step down but this still will not change his public support or his party affiliation. He, and his party (Beiteinu), do carry a good deal of popular support in Israel and this is what is really scary. Beiteinu carried 15 seats and this is not terribly far behind the leading parties in the current Knesset. Lieberman's party is gaining steam with Israeli voters who sympathize with the rhetoric of hate and extreme nationalism.

I was just thinking how nice it is Canada is welcoming to and winning the freindship of retrograde racists and thugs like Lieberman while at the same time abandoning Canadians to prison and worse who just aren't white enough. I'm sure Lieberman the Supremacist found kindred spirits in Ottawa.

While the article in question, which has yet to be taken seriously by anyone outside of Benjamin Netanyahu's government, could easily be interpreted as defamatory to Israel's military, Lieberman's reaction to its accusations could not be interpreted as anything less than an attack on Sweden, in general, as a nation of Nazis yesterday and cowards today.

I would think that most Canadians want a government that they can trust.  This one cannot be trusted at all, as they keep proving over and over again.  Framed in that context, it's one step to disloging this facist regime. 

Maybe not a complete solution, but a small step in that direction.

I would venture to say that most Canadians don't give a shit about Israel.  Maybe its time to ask why is our government so obsessed defending this apartheid/terrorist/war criminal state on the other side of the world. Why, why, why?

It makes for an interesting debate and it could make for a very interesting election.
