This buffoon needs to grow a little orange moustache, already. No fucking joke.

Mr. Magoo

I know what you're getting at, but tell me it wouldn't be funnier if he grew a nice, orange Monopoly Guy handlebar moustache. And got fitted for a top hat.  And then just for fun, bought Reading Railroad.

That's $25 EVERY TIME an American lands there.

So how is the USA's Rob Ford doing today?

Trump probably doesn't give to charities, probably doesn't pay taxes, and that's probably why he is not releasing his tax returns. Folow the money  people, as it's always about the money.

The Black Eyes in Donald Trump’s Life

Trump as a candidate has, of course, refused to release his tax returns. But many years ago he was obliged to release them for casino regulatory filings — and at that time he paid no federal income tax at all. Because of tax loopholes, he managed to report zero income (actually losses!) for both 1978 and 1979.

There are certainly some interesting comparisons -- like how could men so questionably fit be so record-breakingly popular -- but as nasty a piece of work as Ford was, I'm not sure he was quite a Trump.  Yes, I know that he surely did say and do some assholish things; list them if it brings closure.

But he never demanded that David Miller produce his birth certificate, and he never promised his Rexdale supporters that he'd build a big wall to keep the brown people out.

But it wasn't racist.  Sealed

Trump makes no apologies for his birther past

Instead, he lied about his role in the conspiracy theory, and made unfounded accusations about Hillary Clinton’s involvement.

Trump hints at Clinton's assassination again after retracting 'birther' theory

Trump did break some new ground on foreign policy on Friday as he attempted to appeal to Miami’s large populations of Cuban-Americans and Venezuelans.
Attacking President Obama for “weakness” over his administration’s conciliatory new approach to Havana, Trump promised to “stand with the Cuban people in their fight against communist oppression”, a stance that drew applause from hard-line Cuban-Americans in the audience.
“The president’s one-sided deal for Cuba benefits only the Castro regime,” he said. “But all the concessions that Obama granted were done through executive order, which means the next president can reverse them. And that is what I will do unless the Castro regime meets our demands. They include religious freedom for the Cuban people and the freeing of political prisoners. Am I right?”
Trump also addressed problems in Venezuela, which he said had been “run into the ground” by socialists. Appealing specifically to the sizable Venezuelan community in and around the neighborhood of Doral, home of his Trump Doral golf resort, he said: “Miami is full of hard-working Venezuelans. The next president must stand with all people oppressed in our hemisphere.” At past rallies, Trump has often been prone to suggesting, if elected, Clinton would turn the United States into Venezuela.

I wouldn’t presume to tell anyone who they should vote for in the coming election, although I can say without hesitation that I’m entirely opposed to the continuation of the Trump-inspired, old reactionary order. I don’t know whether or not a Trump defeat would be a fatal blow to racist forces in this country. I can say this much: at some point soon, Americans will have to decide whether they want to live in a country that respects democracy and equal rights for all, or embraces the racist, fascistic politics of a white supremacist culture. The answer to which side prevails will soon be upon us.

Trump has divided the Republican party so badly, former Republican presidents are voting for Hillary!

http://www.politico.com/story/2016/09/exclusive-george-hw-bush-to-vote-f...

Former President George H.W. Bush is bucking his party's presidential nominee and plans to vote for Hillary Clinton in November, according to a member of another famous political family, the Kennedys.

Bush, 92, had intended to stay silent on the White House race between Clinton and Donald Trump, a sign in and of itself of his distaste for the GOP nominee. But his preference for the wife of his own successor, President Bill Clinton, nonetheless became known to a wider audience thanks to Kathleen Hartington Kennedy Townsend, the former Maryland lieutenant governor and daughter of the late Robert F. Kennedy.

Donald Trump’s campaign chair in a prominent Ohio county has claimed there was “no racism” during the 1960s and said black people who have not succeeded over the past half-century only have themselves to blame.

Kathy Miller, who is white and chair of the Republican nominee’s campaign in Mahoning County, made the remarks during a taped interview with the Guardian’s Anywhere but Washington series of election videos.

...

Miller also dismissed the racial tensions of the 1960s, when she said she graduated from high school. “Growing up as a kid, there was no racism, believe me. We were just all kids going to school.”

Asked about segregation and the civil rights movement, she replied: “I never experienced it. I never saw that as anything.”

Miller added: “I don’t think there was any racism until Obama got elected. We never had problems like this ... Now, with the people with the guns, and shooting up neighborhoods, and not being responsible citizens, that’s a big change, and I think that’s the philosophy that Obama has perpetuated on America.”

Trump may not be overtly sexist at his rallies, but his supporters often fill in the gaps he leaves for them. And they’re particularly virulent when it comes to his opponent. Bumper stickers that read, “Trump that bitch,” and T-shirts that say, “Hillary sucks, but not like Monica,” are available outside his rallies, and when Jezebel’s Anna Merlan told one vendor she wasn’t comfortable with women being called bitches, he replied, “This one it’s alright; she’s done more dirty than any normal woman.”

“I think you don’t realize the emotional cost of every single day, twice a day, being in rooms where the norm has become people shouting out, ‘Hang the bitch,’ ‘Kill her,’ ‘Cunt,’” the second reporter said. “You shouldn’t be at the point where you hear ‘Cunt’ and you think, Oh, they’re angry at Hillary, or you hear ‘Bitch,’ and you’re like, Oh, they’re talking about our former secretary of State.”

Mr. Magoo

Rudy Giuliani weighed in recently, proclaiming that by not promptly leaving Bill over his infidelities, she's pretty much proven that she's "too stupid" for the Presidency.

If Colin Powell announced that he's gay, a heroin addict, and running for President I think Giuliani would say "we need to support him in his difficult times.  People are complex."

But Hillary has that uterus and suchlike.

It would be hilarious if Giuliani's ex-wives (the ones he cheated on) endorsed Clinton. The same for Gingrich.

I doubt that would even be news.

What is wierd is the number of women supporting Trump even though this is a minority.

The number of men supporting Trump does not say very flattering things about men in the US.

I'm sure you meant to say "does not say very flattering things about THE men WHO SUPPORT TRUMP in the US."

It's unclear what men who don't support Trump have to do with this.

It also reflects badly on the men who do not support Trump. As the dominant class, they have a social responsibility to speak up and put social pressure on the more regressive men who do support Trump.

Mr. Magoo

When will American men get over their reluctance to criticize Trump?  When will someone finally say something?

6079_Smith_W

Yeah. Not all men. I think I have heard that one.

Of course, part of that social responsibility is to look beyond being concerned about how misunderstood we are and focus on the important stuff.

Thin skins aside, I think anyone who thinks about it realises that if you aren't one of the ones they are talking about, then you aren't one of the ones they are talking about.

But the demographic data about older people, men, wealthy people, white people, and religious people is still valid, and there is no problem in pointing out those general trends so long as it does not turn in to unfair judgment about individual people.

Mr. Magoo

Cody87 seems to be suggesting that the problem is:

1.  Men who support Trump

2.  Men who don't support Trump

6079_Smith_W

If you want to read that into it.

Sorry, but I don't set my hair on fire when I hear someone say there is a problem with white people in this country because I get the point. And even if the speaker is discriminatory I don't really care because there are bigger things to think about.

And frankly, this little line of concern belongs in the same drawer IMO.

Mr. Magoo

It's a bit of a moot point anyway.  Trump's real base is the working class.

It's the working class that needs to be ashamed.

6079_Smith_W

If one is a religious sort I suppose they might feel the need to work shame into it.

(sorry. Don't mean to slam all of them)

But it is worth pointing out things like the relationship between federal aid and support for the party which likes to demonize it.

BillBC

"It's okay. You don't need to explain it.Whether Trump's supporters have blinders on or not doesn't change the fact the media (both formal and social) have been giving him a far easier time than Clinton. And they are responsible for his rise just like the Republicans who are now denouncing their frankenstein monster."

I just don't see this...the media giving him an easier time.  Even the National Post hates him.  I'm conservative, and I think he's appalling.
